Nghana Lewis is a proud native of Lafayette, Louisiana, where she attended elementary school at Cathedral Carmel and St. Genevieve, middle school at Paul Breaux and Tuerlings Catholic, and high school at St. Thomas More. She earned a BA in English from Tulane University, a PhD in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a JD in Civil Law from Loyola University College of Law. Currently, Nghana is associate professor of English and African & African Diaspora Studies at Tulane University.
